Joe Scalet

Joe Scalet is a Kansas native who after receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas in 2012. Following completion of his undergraduate studies Joe went to work in the pharmaceutical industry for several years before deciding to return to Kansas for his graduate studies in 2015, where he is currently pursuing his Ph. D. Here he works under the guidance of Dr. Pranjaparamita Dhar and Dr. Stevin Gehrke in Chemical Engineering on the development and characterization of biologically derived polymer materials. In addition to his research Joe has been a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Several C&PE courses, including, introduction to Thermodynamics, Engineering Economics, and Introduction to Computers in Engineering. Outside of the lab, Joe’s interests include traveling, cooking, and camping.
