Biography

Graduated with BS Degree in Petroleum Engineering on June 3, 1957. After serving three years as an officer in the U. S. Marine Corps, joined Shell Oil Company. With Shell, advanced from entry level engineer into senior management. Served as Division Reservoir Engineer, Division Petroleum Engineer, Senior Staff Engineer, Production Superintendent, Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, Production Manager and Manager of Shell Property Sales and Acquisitions. After 30 years with Shell, received and accepted an unsolicited offer to Join Belden and Blake Corporation as Vice-President of Operations. Immediately joined the Board of Directors. After two years, was promoted to President and COO. Belden and Blake was a large independent oil and gas company operating in Michigan, West Virginia, New York and Ohio. It had some 600 employees and hundreds of wells. They sold the company to Texas Pacific Group during July 1997. He immediately retired from the company but remained on the new board through September 2001.
