Hongda Zhu is currently pursuing a Ph.D degree in Chemical & Petroleum Engineering Department, while conducting research advised by Prof. Bala Subramaniam since 2013 Fall. The current research project involves probing the characteristics of mesoporous silicates exhibiting acidity/basicity via instrumental analysis and reaction study (including kinetic modelling). Prior to current research, he worked on modeling LLE between organic solvents and brine system combining Pitzer correlation and other activity coefficient models during his undergraduate research. His interests includes phase equilibrium, process simulation, heterogeneous catalysis, and artificial neural network.
