I received my Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Anna University, India in 2014. I am doing research under the guidance of Dr. Laurence R. Weatherley. My research interest is in the area of enzymatic catalysis with a focus on immobilization techniques using ion exchange resins. Currently, I am working on enzymatic modification of natural oils and fats via production of fatty acid by hydrolysis using microbial lipase immobilized onto cationic ion exchangers. One especially novel aspect of my research plan is to study the influence of an electric field on the performance of the immobilized enzyme. Upon graduation, I would pursue postdoctoral research. Apart from doing research, I enjoy teaching and I work as a GTA for the course CPE 121: Introduction to Computers in Engineering.
